Summer at Schiller in Madrid is an international pre-university program designed for ambitious high school students who want to experience university life before they graduate. Students from around the world come together in an English-speaking environment to explore topics like Artificial Intelligence, International Relations, and Entrepreneurship—all while living in one of Europe’s most exciting cities.
During the program, students attend classes on the Madrid campus of Schiller International University, collaborate on projects with international peers, and explore the culture, history, and energy of Spain’s capital.
It’s a powerful way to experience what studying internationally can feel like—before even applying to university.

Academic Experience
The Madrid program is designed to introduce students to real university-style learning while keeping sessions engaging, interactive, and collaborative.
Over the two-week program, participants attend a series of academic sessions where they select their preferred topic for each session.
Students can explore:
Artificial Intelligence (AI)
Students learn the foundations of one of the most transformative technologies of our time. Topics include:
- How AI works and where we encounter it in everyday life
- Key concepts in machine learning and data analysis
- The ethical questions surrounding automation and technology
- The future impact of AI across industries
International Relations
In this module, students explore how nations cooperate and compete in an interconnected world. Sessions cover:
- How governments and international organizations interact
- The role of diplomacy in resolving global challenges
- Case studies based on current international events
- Simulated debates and negotiation exercises
Entrepreneurship
Students develop the mindset of innovators and business creators. They will:
- Learn how ideas become successful businesses
- Understand basic business models and startup thinking
- Work in teams to develop a new concept
- Present and pitch their ideas to peers
Real-World Skills for the Future

At the end of the program, students receive a Certificate of Completion from Schiller International University.
Cultural Experiences in Spain

Throughout the program, students participate in organized cultural excursions that introduce them to Spanish history, art, and daily life.
Highlights include exploring Madrid’s historic neighborhoods, visiting museums and landmarks, and discovering Spain’s famous culinary culture.
Students who register early may also participate in a special overnight excursion to the coastal city of Valencia—a Mediterranean destination known for its architecture, beaches, and innovation hub.
