Schiller International University has signed a framework collaboration agreement with the Real Federación de Golf de Madrid to expand educational opportunities for federated golfers and their families, combining academic excellence with real-world flexibility for competitive sports careers.
What this partnership delivers for the community
This collaboration is designed to create broader access to international higher education while strengthening the local sports ecosystem. The agreement promotes joint actions and shared communication to increase visibility of opportunities, encourage youth engagement, and connect families with a clear path to higher education without forcing athletes to choose between sport and studies.
Scholarship benefits for federated athletes and families
Starting in September 2026, eligible federated students (and certain family members) can access scholarship conditions across different study modalities, including:
- 100% on-campus: 55% scholarship for the first year, with subsequent years linked to academic performance (GPA thresholds are specified in the agreement).
- 100% online: 75% scholarship for the first year, with renewal conditions based on academic performance.
- Online + 1 on-campus semester: 75% scholarship for the first year, with renewal conditions based on academic performance.
(Conditions for intakes from 2027 onward are subject to review, ensuring the best available scholarship framework remains in place.)
Academic flexibility built for high-performance sport
A key pillar of the agreement is an academic flexibility program that enables athletes to balance competition schedules with degree requirements. When validated through the agreement’s follow-up structure, students may alternate between in-person and remote learning to maintain academic progress during training and tournaments.
A commitment that strengthens Schiller’s prestige
By formalizing support for student-athletes through scholarships, structured coordination, and flexible learning options, Schiller reinforces its position as an institution that protects ambition—academic and athletic—through credible, long-term systems, not one-off initiatives.
“This agreement reflects what Schiller stands for: opening doors to an international education while respecting the discipline and demands of high-performance sport. We’re proud to support athletes with concrete scholarship pathways and the flexibility they need to succeed on the course and beyond,” said Marta Muñiz Ferrer, Schiller’s representative in the agreement.
