Day 1: Careers in International Organizations and Recruitment Insights

The first session focused on international relations careers and opportunities within global institutions.

Inside Recruitment at an International Organization

Students from our BA in International Relations and Diplomacy welcomed professionals from the World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH), who shared insights into careers in international organizations and evolving diplomacy career pathways. The session explored:

  • How recruitment processes are structured in international institutions
  • What employers look for in competitive applications
  • Key skills needed for international relations degree careers

Through interview simulations, students gained hands-on experience and practical feedback, helping them better understand how to present themselves effectively in professional settings.

Building Professional Profiles and Networks

Following the workshop, students continued the conversation through university networking opportunities, engaging directly with speakers in a more informal setting. In parallel, the Student Government organized a professional headshot session—giving students the opportunity to enhance their CVs and online profiles, an important step in preparing for today’s competitive job market.

Day 2: Interview Preparation and Global Business Careers

The second session focused on careers in business and technology, with a strong emphasis on interview preparation for global companies.

Preparing for Corporate Recruitment Processes

Led by Ramy Sinifro, Site Director and Bar Raiser at Amazon, the session introduced students to the recruitment strategies used by major organizations. Students explored:

  • How companies evaluate candidates using leadership principles
  • The structure of interviews at global firms
  • How to build clear, structured responses

The session provided valuable insight into global business career opportunities and how to succeed in competitive hiring processes with corporations like Amazon, Toyota, and Netflix. This hands-on approach reinforced key aspects of career development for students, helping participants build confidence and improve their performance in real interview scenarios.
