Internships for International Students After Graduation
If you are an international student completing your degree at Schiller’s Madrid campus, Spain’s post-study work visa offers you the opportunity to stay and gain professional experience after graduation.
This visa allows graduates to remain in Spain for up to 12 months while they seek employment or internships related to their field of study. It’s a valuable chance to put your knowledge into practice, connect with leading organizations, and take your first steps toward building a career in Europe.

Madrid Student Guide
Visa Information
All students must be legally residing in Spain. The Spanish government asks that you identify yourself and demonstrate your right to be in the country.
However, obtaining a Spanish student visa is straightforward and simple if you follow our guide.
Student Life
Madrid is home to a thriving international community, attracting students from all over the world. In 2023-24, the city hosted over 70,000 international students, offering a rich cultural experience and a diverse environment for personal and academic growth.

Transportation and Accessibility
Madrid’s extensive and well-connected public transportation system makes getting around the city easy and efficient.
- Metro - The Madrid Metro is one of the largest and most reliable in Europe, with over 300 stations spanning the city and its suburbs.
- Buses - In addition to the metro, Madrid has a wide range of buses (including electric buses) that offer accessible routes to all corners of the city.
- Electric Bicycles - The Bicimad bike-sharing program features nearly 258 docking stations and over 3,000 fully electric bicycles.
Healthcare and Health Insurance
Healthcare and Health Insurance
All students are required to carry their own health care insurance and accident insurance. Coverage is required from the date of departure from their country of residence until their return.
The coverage must meet the requirements established by the Spanish government and the Spanish consulate. E.U. nationals may use the Spanish Seguridad Social through agreements with their social security services at home.
Accommodation
There are many ways international students in Madrid can rent a room. In a co-living space or residence, you will be able to have your own room or share with someone. Amenities are usually provided and shared with your neighbors on the same floor (bathroom, laundry room, kitchen). Below are several renowned companies that offer co-living in Madrid:
