Biography
Professor Miltiades has served at the Embassy of Cyprus in Egypt as Deputy Permanent Representative to the Council of Europe, Counselor at the Permanent Representation in the EU, Deputy Political Director at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Deputy Head of Mission at the Embassy in France, and Ambassador to the Political and Security Committee of the European Union. He has spent most of his diplomatic career dealing with EU foreign and security policy issues, including the Common Defence and Security Policy.
His general areas of interest lie at the intersection of international peace and security, crisis management, and international negotiations aiming at conflict resolution.
Professor Miltiades holds BA degrees in Economics and Sociology from Indiana University at Bloomington, an MA degree in Sociology from the University of South Carolina, and an MA degree in International Relations from the Université Panthéon-Assas, Paris II.
At Schiller International University, he teaches various courses on Diplomacy, International Relations Theories, International Negotiations, and Current Issues in International Relations.
