- You must submit a completed application online and non-refundable application fee. You can do it here.
- You must show the official documentation that proves you have completed the equivalent of an American high school diploma and are prepared to do college level work in English.
- We strongly recommend you apply for admission at least four months before the beginning of the term in which you plan to enroll.
- Prior to enrollment you need to:

- Show proof of financial support
- Advance deposit of tuition and fees

Undergraduate Enrollment
As an Undergraduate student you need to know:
- You must hold an Official High School transcript indicating your date of graduation, or official GED transcript.
- You can also provide proof of completion of secondary education if you have studied outside of the United States or the American educational system. Examples may include the Abitur, Selectividad, Baccalauréat, International Baccalaureate (IB) “O” and “A”- level exam results.
- You must send the enrollment agreement signed.
- Proof of your English proficiency is required:
- TOEFL IBT (Test of English as a Foreign Language): minimum score of 80.
- TOEIC (Test of English for International Communication) minimum score of 650.
- IELTS (International English Language Testing System) minimum score of 6.0.
- CAMBRIDGE FCE (First Certificate in English) grade of “B” (B2 level) or higher -Cambridge Advanced (CAE) or Proficiency (CPE) preferred.
- Duolingo English Exam: score of at least 95 for all programs.
- Pearson English Test (PTE): obtain a GSE score of 59 or higher.
- If you have successfully graduated from the Tampa Language Center with a Level 6 program, you are eligible for admission.
- Verification proof may be waived if you are a student who has graduated from a secondary school where English is the language of instruction or the country's official language.
For transfer credit, you need:
- An Official Transcript recognized by the United States Department of Education, or recognized by the respective government as institutions of higher education, for international-based institutions.
- A high school diploma, or official high school transcript indicating date of graduation, or official GED transcript if you are US citizen/legal resident there.
- Proof of completion of secondary education if you were educated outside of the United States or the American educational system. Examples may include the Abitur, Selectividad, Baccalauréat, International Baccalaureate (IB) “O” and “A”-level exam results (You can see it in section “Proof of High School Graduation, Secondary Education, or GED” for further details).
- To send the enrollment agreement signed.
- To include a copy of an official ID or passport (Visa Students).
- For those who have completed undergraduate studies at a non-US recognized institution, you must arrange to have an evaluation of a foreign transcript for any credits you wish to transfer to SIU. This independent evaluation can be done by one of these fully accredited evaluation agencies:
- International Credentials Evaluators (AICE).
- American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (AACRAO).
- National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES).
- Evaluated transcripts should be forwarded to respective admissions department of the Campus where you plan to enroll.
Graduate Enrollment
As a Graduate student:
- You will need the official transcripts from the institution that awarded your undergraduate degree or its equivalent.
If you do not have a degree recognized in the United States, you must arrange to have an evaluation of your foreign transcript by American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (AACRAO)’s International Education Services, a member of Association of International Credential Evaluators (AICE), or National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES) prior to the evaluation and award.
All costs for foreign transcript evaluation must be covered by the applicant. - You must provide a copy of your official ID or passport (Visa Students).
- You must submit a signed enrollment agreement.
If you are not a native English speaker, did not complete your post-secondary education exclusively in the English language, or did not complete at least 24 academic credits in a university-level program taught in English you will have to provide proof of English proficiency:
- TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) 89 (IBT – Internet version) for Masters, Schiller, TOEFL number is 0835.
- TOEIC (Test of English for International Communication) score of at least 700 for Masters.
- IELTS (International English Language Testing System) score of at least 6.5 for Masters.
- CAMBRIDGE FCE (First Certificate in English) grade of “B” (B2 level) or higher -Cambridge Advanced (CAE) or Proficiency (CPE) preferred.
- Duolingo English Exam: score of at least 105 for all programs.
- Pearson English Test (PTE): obtain a GSE score of 76 or higher.
- If you successfully graduated from the Tampa Language Center with a Level 6 program, you are eligible for admission.

If you are an International student:
- Your application must include documentation proof of a Bachelor’s Degree or its equivalent. Depending on your chosen field of study for your undergraduate degree, you may be required to complete some pre-requisite courses.
- If you are applying to the MIM program, you may hold a Bachelor’s Degree in any field.
- You must have maintained a good academic record in your undergraduate degree program.
