Scholarship Application Procedures:

Each scholarship candidate will be required to fill out the Application for Scholarship.

  • All Scholarships are going to be awarded by the SIU Scholarship Award Committee.All Scholarships are going to be awarded by the SIU Scholarship Award Committee.
  • SIU Scholarship Award Committee will monitor students’ progress and decide on the extension of the awarded scholarship.
  • Information regarding our scholarships are presented clearly and consistently on our website or you may email questions to admissions@schiller.edu
  • International Students’ transcripts will be evaluated to determine GPA
  • The definition of Successful Completion is “Passing all courses attempted within a semester while maintaining at or above the required cumulative GPA.”
  • Different scholarships cannot be combined (except Jump Start and Inter Campus Transfer Scholarships) and on the special approval from the University President.

Below terms apply to all students:

  1. University reserves the right to change scholarship offerings without notice at any time.
  2. Student must enroll in a minimum of 12 credit hours for each semester. If a student is unable to attend 12 hours in a semester due to transfer credits (course availability) the scholarship will be awarded after the completion of 12 credit hours. Student is responsible for all financial obligations to the school.
  3. All Scholarships are posted to student ledgers at the end of the completion of each successful semester if a stipend has not been paid.
  4. Scholarships will be for tuition only, cannot be used for stipend purposes. Students that request stipends forfeit any current or future scholarships.
  5. Students must be in good financial standing with the institution to receive their award(s).
  6. Students that are in default on title IV student loans are not eligible to receive any scholarships other than the Employer Reimbursement Matching Scholarship.
  7. All Scholarship awards recommended by the Scholarship Committee need to be approved and finalized by the Campus Director or VP of Financial Aid and Compliance.
  8. Application Deadlines: Students must apply a minimum of two (2) Fridays prior to the start date, excluding the Employer Reimbursement Matching Scholarship.
  9. Scholarship applications will not be considered without Original Official Transcripts.

Scholarships: Effective for the Start Date October 27, 2014

Presidents’ Undergraduate Scholarship

Up to a $17,500 (€13,500) scholarship is available to all Undergraduate applicants with a GPA from their high school, community college, or college/university attended after high school if having more than 24 completed credits at 3.50 (on a 4.0 scale) and above (or equivalent) applied at a rate of $1,750 (€1,350/semester).

Eligibility
All Undergraduate applicants with a GPA from high school, community college, or college/university attended after high school if having more than 24 completed credits at 3.50 or higher on a 4.0 scale.

Amount
$1,750 (€1,350) award each semester (12 credits), for up to 5 academic years.

Application
Students do not need to re-apply for this scholarship; eligibility is assessed automatically after completion of each 12 credits. If the GPA falls below 3.30 (on a 4.0 scale), you will not be eligible to reapply until the cumulative GPA meets the minimum standards at the end of the semester.

Presidents’ Graduate Scholarship

Up to a $6,900 (€5,100) Scholarship is available to Graduate applicants with a GPA from their Bachelor Degree at 3.30 and above (or equivalent) applied at a rate of $2,300 (€1,700/semester).

Eligibility
All Graduate applicants with a GPA from their Bachelor Degree at 3.30 or higher.Continued eligibility is subject to maintaining an overall high level of academic performance at 3.30 or higher.

Amount
$2,300 (€1,700) awarded each semester, for up to 3 semesters.

Application
Student needs to apply when applying for admission to SIU. Re-applying is not necessary for this scholarship; eligibility is assessed automatically after completion of each 12 credits. If the GPA falls below 3.30 (on a 4.0 scale), you will not be eligible to reapply until the cumulative GPA meets the minimum standards at the end of the semester.

International Scholarship Undergraduate/Graduate

This Scholarship is available to selected Undergraduate/Graduate applicants with a GPA from their previous education of 2.50 or higher (on a 4.0 scale). Additional criteria include cultural and social activities, volunteer work, contribution to society, and/or sport activities.

Eligibility
All Undergraduate/Graduate applicants with a GPA from previous education at 2.50 or higher (on a 4.0 scale). Continued eligibility is subject to maintaining an overall high level of academic performance by maintaining a minimum of 2.50 cumulative GPA for Undergraduate and 3.0 cumulative GPA or higher for Graduate students at the end of each respective semester.

Amount
Undergraduate: $1000.00 (€800) per semester (12 credits) to be applied at the end of the semester upon successful completion.Graduate: $1300.00 (€1040) per semester (12 credits) to be applied at the end of the semester upon successful completion.

Application
Students do not need to re-apply for this scholarship; eligibility is assessed automatically after completion of each 12 credits. If the GPA falls below 2.50/3.00 (on a 4.0 scale), you will not be eligible to reapply until the cumulative GPA meets the minimum standards at the end of the semester. Must provide proof of cultural and social activities, volunteer work, contributions to society, and/or sport activities.

Alumni Scholarship

Eligibility
Alumni of the University their children and spouses enrolling in an Undergraduate/Graduate degree program.

Amount
Undergraduate: $1770.00 (€1350.00) per semester (12 credits) to be applied at the end of the semester upon successful completion.Graduate: $2300.00 (€1700.00) per semester (12 credits) to be applied at the end of the semester upon successful completion.

Application
Students need to apply for the Alumni Scholarship during the application process. Cumulative GPA must remain above 2.5 for Undergraduate / 3.0 for Graduate students. If the GPA falls below 2.5/3.0 you will not be eligible to reapply until the cumulative GPA meets the minimum standards at the end of the semester.

Jump Start Scholarship

Eligibility
High School students who attend SIU within 45 days of their graduation date. (60 days with Presidents approval).

Amount
$1,500 (€ 1200) for their first semester for Undergraduate degree program and original award is good for one semester only.

Application
Students need to apply for the Jump Start Scholarship during the application process. This scholarship can be combined with all other scholarships.

Nursing Program Scholarship

Eligibility
All SIU students enrolled in Core Nursing Courses with a minimum TEAS score of 60 are eligible for this scholarship.

Amount
$525.00 per NUR course; only for Core Nursing Courses; must maintain above a 2.75 cumulative GPA or higher during the general education portion of their enrollment to be eligible.

Application
Nursing students will need to apply for this scholarship 30 days prior to their first Core Nursing course. Scholarship will be applied after successful completion of the semester. If the cumulative GPA falls below the academic standards, you will not be eligible to re-apply.

ICT (Inter Campus Transfer) Scholarship

Eligibility
All SIU students willing to transfer among different Schiller physical campus locations.

Amount
$1,770 (€ 1350) for Undergraduate and $2300 (€1700) for Graduate students per semester of tuition fees for up to two semesters after transfer. Students need to maintain cumulative GPA above 2.75 for Undergraduate / 3.25 for Graduate programs.

Application
Students need to apply for the ICT Scholarship during the transfer application process. Students must re-apply for this scholarship every time they want to transfer to another campus. Transfers can be executed only after completion of 2 (two) full semesters (24 credits). If the cumulative GPA falls below 2.75/3.25 (on a 4.0 scale), student will not be eligible to reapply until the cumulative GPA meets prescribed minimum standards by the end of the semester.

Diplomatic Scholarship- Effective January 1, 2015

Eligibility
All employees and their dependents of Embassies and Diplomatic Missions around the World with which SIU has signed MOU agreements. (Review the list of approvals on the www.schiller.edu website. If your embassy is not listed, please inquire within your Embassy/Mission).

Amount
$1,770 (€ 1350) for Undergraduate and $2300 (€1700) for Graduate students per semester of tuition fees. Students need to maintain cumulative GPA above 2.50 for Undergraduate / 3.00 for Graduate programs. Re-applying is not necessary for this scholarship; eligibility is assessed automatically after completion of each 12 credits.

Application
Students need to apply for the ICT Scholarship during the transfer application process. Students must re-apply for this scholarship every time they want to transfer to another campus. Transfers can be executed only after completion of 2 (two) full semesters (24 credits). Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship

Eligibility
All student members of the PTK Chapter/College at all levels of study who can demonstrate academic excellence by earning an undergraduate 2 year degree and have a GPA of at least a 3.50 or higher on a 4.0 scale from an accredited institution. Must submit a Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship for Transfer Students application and submit an essay describing the significant contributions you have made to your PTK chapter/college and explain how an international education can benefit you. Essays will be review by the Provost for approval.

Amount
$3,000 (€2,400) per semester for Graduate degree programs and, $2,350 (€1,880) per semester for the Undergraduate degree programs.Original award is good for one semester, with the potential of being automatically renewed for one additional semester. To qualify for the one additional semester, student must have successfully completed each course with a minimum grade of a “B”.

Application
Student must apply for this Scholarship during application process. Student must provide proof of membership.

Golden Key Honour Society Scholarship

Eligibility
Golden Key members are chosen for Membership into the Society by invitation only and apply to the top 15% of the university sophomores, juniors and seniors, as well as top-performing graduate students in all fields of study, based solely on their academic achievements. Student must submit an essay about what does it means to earn your four-year degree? How do you feel this will enhance your plans and dreams for the future? Essays will be reviewed by the Provost for approval.

Amount
$3,000 (€2,400) per semester for Graduate degree programs and, $2,350 (€1,880) per semester for the Undergraduate degree programs.Original award is good for one semester, with the potential of being automatically renewed for one additional semester. To qualify for the one additional semester, student must have successfully completed each course with a minimum grade of a “B”.

Application
May apply upon student receiving acceptance for Membership into Golden Key Honour Society by the Provost.

Employer Reimbursement Matching Scholarship

Eligibility
New students that start on or after October 27, 2014 can apply for the employer reimbursement matching scholarship if they are eligible for tuition reimbursement through their employer.

Amount
Up to $4,000 (€3,000) maximum per calendar year.

Application
Must provide necessary paperwork from employer regarding tuition reimbursement program. Students do need to apply for this scholarship; once approved it would apply automatically when grades are posted and the payment from the employer is received.

Sixt Annual Student Scholarship

Eligibility
Five high school seniors graduating in 2018 can apply for the Sixt Annual Student Scholarship Program if they plan to continue their education at Schiller International University.

Amount
$5,000 (€4,000).

Application
Must provide necessary paperwork from Sixt and a copy of their high school transcript. The scholarship will also take into consideration other factors such as financial need and extracurricular activities. Award winners must show valid proof of a full-time enrollment in an accredited undergraduate college or university for the academic year of 2018/2019.
