Schiller International University Has a Rowdie Night

Schiller International University Has a Rowdie Night

Students and staff jumped in a Uber and on a beautiful Saturday night (April 22, to be exact) and headed to downtown St. Petersburg to take in a Tampa Bay Rowdies game. Since we had a little time to kill we had our Uber driver drop us off at Joey Brooklyn’s, New York Pizzeria.  While our pizza was being made we walked around the city a bit. Taking in the music, crowds and energy of this old southern city. Arriving back just in time for our pizza to come out of the oven piping hot, we had a quick bite then off to the match.

As we joined the sea of green and yellow jerseys heading to the stadium, we exchanged stories of how soccer/football is in the students home country.

Once we were in the stadium and settled in we enjoyed a very close match against the Charleston Battery. But after being tied or ahead,  the Rowdies fell to the Battery by one goal in the last minutes of the game. But that did not dampen our good time. In fact we headed back to downtown to enjoy the city a bit more. Then on the Uber back home, everyone was in agreement, this is a city we have to see again.
