We would like to introduce the newest addition to Schiller Florida: Tara Augustine. Tara is our new International Director of Admissions. She comes to us with over 7 years of experience in higher education and has worked in South Florida, Maryland/DC, and recently the Tampa area. Tara lives in the Tampa Bay area with her husband and her 10 year old son. Plus, an interesting fact about Tara is that she was on 2 episodes of Family Feud with Steve Harvey in 2013. The staff at Schiller would like to WELCOME Tara to our team
This month the student body of Schiller USA enjoyed an 8 hour trip on the Gulf of Mexico Deep Sea Fishing. We chartered the “2 George’s” fishing boat and crew and headed to the high seas. With a beautiful Friday at hand, the students headed to Tarpon Springs to meet our boat. Meeting at the dock at 8 am was a little hard on some students but they all made it. With our crew, lunch, snacks and drinks we headed for the high seas. Some students it was their first time on a boat and fishing. As we came to find out, not everyone fared as well as others. But most, if not all did fish and catch some great fish to take home and eat. The crew even filleted the fish for the students to take home. To summarize: It was a long day on the beautiful water, with lots of laughs, fish and fun…… and defiantly worth every moment of the experience. What is a S’more? • Graham Crackers • Toasted Marshmallows • Chocolate A little bit about the S’more: S’more is the contraction of the phrase “some more”, which is not strange considering how tasty they are. The first S’more recipe can be found in a book of recipes published by the Campfire Marshmallows Company in the early 1920s, which also tells us that the treat had already been popular with both Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts of America for some time. Both groups have published the recipe in their campfire cookbooks. In 1968 the following recipe was provided: place a square of milk chocolate on a graham cracker, toast a marshmallow and put on top of the chocolate, then a second graham cracker on top of the toasted marshmallow and squeeze and you will want “s’more”. There are many variations on S’mores including versions made as Pop Tarts, pies and even cookies. S’mores can also be made in your kitchen….
