SIU Heidelberg opens its doors to seniors

Great is the thirst for knowledge from retired Germans – as so-called guest listeners or as fully enrolled students – that many universities now offer specialist courses for elderly students. Schiller International University Heidelberg participated in a local do-good project last weekend and opened the doors of its library to elderly people.

This project is an example of a growing interest in private higher education in Germany. Thanks to everyone for taking part in our orientation tour about how to use the SIU library and its services.

SIU Heidelberg’s staff tours schools in Stuttgart and Kaiserslautern

Is an international Bachelor or Master at Schiller your passport to the business world? We think so. The Open Fairs at Stuttgart High School and Kaiserslautern Military Schools gave us an opportunity to introduce our programs to prospective students. We cherish all the One-to-One meetings we had this week with dedicated candidates specifically interested in business programmes in Management, Marketing, and Finance. Prospective students had the chance to meet directly with our admissions director and school representatives.

Education Abroad Exhibition

SIU Heidelberg’s staff is on the way to Ukraine. This weekend, we will participate in the Education Abroad Exhibition to have a chat with students and education experts about our dual degree and study abroad options. This fair is a wonderful opportunity to discuss our programs, funding opportunities, and ways to get involved with Schiller.

German Unity Day

We wish all of our students a happy holiday tomorrow. Due to the German Unity Day Heidelberg campus will be closed. The German Unity Day is a national holiday commemorating the reunification from 1990, where the former Eastern part of Germany (GDR) joined the Federal Republic of Germany.

The fall of the Berlin Wall on November 9, 1989, paved the way towards this national big day which remarked a huge step toward Germany’s unification.

The International College Day is a study abroad fair. Every student who wants to study in the USA, Canada, the UK, or Europe, won’t want to miss this event. Representatives from over 65 colleges from around the world are there to answer the students’ questions about everything from choosing a program and applying to scholarships and student housing. Informative presentations about topics like the differences between higher education systems, creating a portfolio, and financing studies abroad are a bonus.
