Meet Alumnus Roudi Soubra
A great success of our Alumnus Roudi Soubra, a 2003 Graduate from Schiller International University – London Campus!
Master developer Nakheel’s hotel at Ibn Battuta Mall has been crowned 3-star Hotel of the Year at the 2017 Middle East Hospitality Excellence Awards.
The 372-room Premier Inn, which opened just over a year ago, scooped the top prize in its category at the 3rd Middle East Hospitality Excellence Awards ceremony, held in Dubai. It beat five other hotels to claim the award.
Roudi Soubra, now a General Manager, Premier Inn Ibn Battuta Mall, added:
“Premier Inn Ibn Battuta Mall offers excellent facilities in a convenient location. This, combined with Premier Inn’s enviable reputation, adds up to a great guest experience to which our customers return time and time again. We have enjoyed close to 90 per cent occupancy since we opened and this is set to further increase as we enter the peak travel season. We are delighted to have taken home the top prize in our category at this year’s Hospitality Excellence Awards.”
Premier Inn Dubai Ibn Battuta is directly connected to the mall and the Ibn Battuta Metro station. Hotel facilities include an all-day restaurant, Costa coffee shop, swimming pool, gym and business centre with meeting and conference rooms. Guests can also enjoy free, 24-hour Wi-Fi access. Guests include business and leisure travellers, with many returning regularly and a few even living in the hotel since it opened last October.
The hotel is one of 17 in Nakheel’s AED 5 billion hospitality expansion, under which 6,000 rooms and hotel apartments will be delivered across Dubai. Premier Inn is also the operating partner for a Nakheel hotel at Dragon City, due to open in 2018.
A second Nakheel hotel at Ibn Battuta Mall is also under construction.
Thanks to everyone for coming to our annual Schiller Winter Ball 2017 to celebrate another successful year and making it memorable! The chosen venue this year was Print Media Lounge – Level 12, with stunning views of the city.
Starting with glass of champagne and opening speech by Mrs. Tanja Ward, scrumptious dinner was served, following by awards, Student Council elections, and lots of entertainment – our students, staff, faculty and guests danced to the music, enjoyed an open bar, raffle, photo booth and most of all, some great company, until the early hours. Everyone looked lovely in their dresses & suits, it was the perfect evening.
Schiller International University – Heidelberg Campus, is extremely proud to announce the winning candidates for the Student Council Elections 2017!
A massive congratulations to everyone who ran in the election and took part in the campaign, and a huge thank you to everyone that voted – you’ve helped make the Students’ Union what it is.
The students of Schiller Heidelberg Campus will be represented by Baran Pourtahmaseb-Sasi (BA International Relationship and Diplomacy; right on picture), Donya Jahedmanesh (BS International Business; middle) and Darren Johnson (BS International Business; left).
Baran Pourtahmaseb-Sasi is a US Army Veteran, now studying his Bachelors in International Relations and Diplomacy. As President of Heidelberg’s Student Council, his vision is focused on improving the overall culture and experience of the student body in all possible aspects. By personally selecting his 6-member volunteer cabinet in addition to the elected Vice President and Treasurer, he is confident in setting a new Student Council standard at SIU.
Donya Jahedmanesh started her studies at SIU’s Madrid’s Campus in “International Tourism and Hotel Management“. In August 2017, she transferred to the Heidelberg Campus, as well as changed her degree to “International Business”. She is serving as the Student Council Vice President and her priorities include developing and ensuring that the plans and goals of the Student Council are met.
Darren Redrick Johnson, airborne war veteran, is an IB major who also serves as the Student Council Treasurer. His goals as Treasurer is to facilitate clubs for business students to utilize the tools they learn at Schiller and employ them for their personal growth, as well as the aid of the Student Council to improve the quality of life for the student body.
