Tampa Bay’s Commencement Ceremony

Tampa Bay Campus – Commencement Ceremony 2017

On July 28th 2017, Schiller Tampa Bay proudly held their Annual Commencement Ceremony.  Almost 75 graduates crossed the stage with over 200 hundred family and friends cheering them on.  The Schiller graduates came from all over the world, including: America, India, Kenya, The Ivory Coast, Nigeria and many more.  As Nithin Sujay Portabulla (the student speaker) explained, “We came [to the USA] with a tinge of fear along with a lot of excitement.  The reason was simple, we were alone, and stepping into an entirely new country we have never been before, so fear just tags along with the excitement.  But when we left this institution, we were filled with a lot of confidence and a tremendous amount of courage”.  That theme was augmented by the Keynote speaker Keith Overton, a Schiller Alumni and former faculty-member, who is currently President of the largest resort on the west coast of Florida, TradeWinds Resort; he advised the graduates on 7 key points that will simplify the professional world and assist in achieving each individual’s goals and dreams.

Dreams are what these individuals fulfilled that night by crossing the Schiller stage.  It could be seen in the graduate’s and loved one’s eyes that they were filled with pride and joy.  To see the one time student’s transition to the graduate is a joy that the staff and faculty strive for every day.  This made it a special moment in history for all involved.

Now these special Schiller individuals will go out among other professionals and, in the words of the 2016 – 2017 Valedictorian, Bianca Zarybnisky, “Let’s all take the knowledge we received from this program, coupled with the friendships and ideas we have discussed through our different backgrounds and culture, and make a difference in not only our lives, but in the lives of others.”

Congratulations Schiller Class of 2016 – 2017!!!!!

October Outings

October held several great events for the students. To kick off the tradition of Halloween, the students went to Busch Gardens Tampa, to explore the haunted houses, ride the scariest roller coasters in Florida and experience the “Scare Zones”. It was a night full of Screams and laughs, all at the same time. Next we came to the actual date of October 31st, where students we able to participate in the school Pumpkin decorating and Schiller’s very own Haunted house. This was accomplished by turning a 300+ square foot classroom into a 4 room haunted house, complete with live characters and some not so alive ones. Once their hearts slowed down a bit the students shared the fact that they enjoyed all the events of the month and the candy that was included.
