Meet our Advisory Board members

Schiller Paris’s programs of study are the result of decades of experience in the fields of international relations and international business. Our curricula, common at all campuses of Schiller International University, bear the mark of the faculty’s dedication to excellence. A key part of our maintaining high standards is the input of the Paris campus’s Advisory Board who mobilize their expertise and experience to provide us useful advice and counsel. In addition to faculty members who lead our respective degree programs, the Advisory Board is made up of three external members: Mr. Amadou DialloCEO of Saloodo! and CEO of DHL Global Forwarding MEA, and alumnus of Schiller Paris (BBA, MBA ’88); Ms. Shevanne Helmer, founding CEO of Helmer, Ltd (London) and alumna of Schiller Paris (MA IRD ’06); His Excellency, Mr. Dritan TolaAmbassador of Albania in France and Monaco, as well as Representative of the President of Albania to the Organisation international de la Francophonie.

Mr. Diallo’s position at the helm of a multinational and the key businesses of DHL allows him to provide our business and diplomacy students special insights into the workings of the global economy and careers. As an entrepreneur with a line of luxury bags that have conquered the fashion world, Ms.Helmer brings insights of great value to business and international relations students alike. Both of them being alumni of Schiller Paris, they provide a special perspective on careers for our students.  With his wide-ranging experience as a diplomat and with the Francophonie, Ambassador Tola contributes his know-how and insights for the benefit of our international relations and diplomacy programs.

Schiller Paris at the OECD Forum 2017

One of the many advantages Paris offers to international business and international relations students is its proximity to headquarters of numerous international organizations based in the city. We at SIU Paris are well aware of the educational asset this represents and that is why most of our classes schedule ‘field trip’ visits to one of these institutions in the course of the term.

Following attendance by undergraduate international relations students at UNESCO‘s “JOURNALISM UNDER FIRE” conference in March and the dinner/conference at the French Senate with the Research and Communication Institute on Europe in April, a cohort of business students led by Professor Brigitte Beauzamy took part to the OECD Forum 2017 last week. Here’s a summary of the event.

Our Organizational Behavior class had the opportunity to attend the OECD Forum 2017 (official page) on June 7th where we were met with global leaders, entrepreneurs and innovators from around the world. The central themes of the forum were based around the necessary policies and initiatives that must be used in order to bridge divides, how globalization has impacted societies, and technological developments. Each topic provided essential insight to further our education and understanding of the business environment. However, there were three discussions that stood out the most: “Talk Together: Ageing Readiness & Competitiveness,” “Inclusive Entrepreneurship,” and “Inequality, Digitalization & Competition.” Continue reading “Schiller Paris at the OECD Forum 2017”

Student Housing in Paris

Student Housing In Paris

Living in Paris means living in one of the most beautiful cities in the world. But many university students discover that student housing in Paris can be a very difficult task. That is why Schiller International University has started a partnership with the Fondation des Etats-Unis, the American residence at the Cité Internationale Universitaire. We have booked rooms exclusively for Schiller students at the residence so that you don’t have to worry about accommodation.

The International University City (Cité Internationale Universitaire) is a genuine college campus in the heart of the Paris, a green haven in the center of a dense urban fabric. You will have the chance to live at an inspiring place that has many different colleges and has a certain Hogwarts feel to it. Students will have the possibility to use the restaurant, the cafeteria, the libraries and sports facilities of the University City, which is located just 15 minutes away from our Paris Campus.

You choose to share a space with other international students, you may have your own room, apartment, or live with in a local family home. No matter your preference, Schiller’s Student Services staff are here to help you every step of the way.

Since all classes are held on campus we strongly recommend you a place to live in Paris . The public transport in Paris is very efficient so you are not restricted to live in the 15th district.

Rent varies according to the type of accommodations you live in. You can expect to pay at minimum around €600 per month for a room in a house which is shared, or a small studio. Rental expenses vary district to district, but are often more affordable if you if live in one of the nearby suburbs.

Our Student Services staff will make contact with you prior to your arrival in Paris.  They will work with you to find accommodations that suits you and your budget.
