Thanks to everyone for coming to our annual Schiller Winter Ball 2017 to celebrate another successful year and making it memorable! The chosen venue this year was Print Media Lounge – Level 12, with stunning views of the city.
Starting with glass of champagne and opening speech by Mrs. Tanja Ward, scrumptious dinner was served, following by awards, Student Council elections, and lots of entertainment – our students, staff, faculty and guests danced to the music, enjoyed an open bar, raffle, photo booth and most of all, some great company, until the early hours. Everyone looked lovely in their dresses & suits, it was the perfect evening.
Schiller International University – Heidelberg Campus, is extremely proud to announce the winning candidates for the Student Council Elections 2017!
A massive congratulations to everyone who ran in the election and took part in the campaign, and a huge thank you to everyone that voted – you’ve helped make the Students’ Union what it is.
The students of Schiller Heidelberg Campus will be represented by Baran Pourtahmaseb-Sasi (BA International Relationship and Diplomacy; right on picture), Donya Jahedmanesh (BS International Business; middle) and Darren Johnson (BS International Business; left).
Baran Pourtahmaseb-Sasi is a US Army Veteran, now studying his Bachelors in International Relations and Diplomacy. As President of Heidelberg’s Student Council, his vision is focused on improving the overall culture and experience of the student body in all possible aspects. By personally selecting his 6-member volunteer cabinet in addition to the elected Vice President and Treasurer, he is confident in setting a new Student Council standard at SIU.
Donya Jahedmanesh started her studies at SIU’s Madrid’s Campus in “International Tourism and Hotel Management“. In August 2017, she transferred to the Heidelberg Campus, as well as changed her degree to “International Business”. She is serving as the Student Council Vice President and her priorities include developing and ensuring that the plans and goals of the Student Council are met.
Darren Redrick Johnson, airborne war veteran, is an IB major who also serves as the Student Council Treasurer. His goals as Treasurer is to facilitate clubs for business students to utilize the tools they learn at Schiller and employ them for their personal growth, as well as the aid of the Student Council to improve the quality of life for the student body.

Career day open house
What a day! Schiller International University Heidelberg partnered with regional and international enterprises to connect with students, showcase their company’s services, and build valuable relationships during our Career Day on November 10th, 2017. Companies such as SAP, PwC, Teach First, Heidelberg Cement, Caterpillar Energy Solutions and Matchrider set up their display throughout our campus and
interacted with students and guests while showcasing products and services. Within our popular workshop sessions, business experts provided trainings in the application procedure and resume writing.
Another favorite element of the day was the Open Stage with interesting lectures from business coaches and alumni – all open to the public.
Student Council elections for Heidelberg campus start today: Students can now vote for the candidates. Please visit Leili Erfanian at the library to make your vote! Dates for voting are from November 14th to November 20th.
On November 20th, the voting booth will be closed so please submit your votes before then.
After the last day of voting, Tanja Ward, the Campus Director, as well as the Student Council Advisor, the Librarian and a representative of the Student Council are counting the votes. The result is announced at the Winter Ball on November 26th.
We are looking forward to a great year with new students at the helm.
