A month ago, one of the students told me **“I speak English, why should I learn Spanish?”** My answer was: if you want to discover new places and meet interesting people, if you are in favor of integration and cultural understanding in a global world, and if you want to get promoted… then you should learn Spanish. And then I mentioned, the story of Fernanda, a recent graduate who is now working in an international company based in London, this is her testimonial: >“Languages have always been a struggle in my life. Speaking English at school, switching to Spanish at home, any child would be confused. **It was not until I went to university that I appreciated what a privilege it is to understand a variety of people.** Travelling to different parts of the world, I felt so lucky to be able to speak English to everyone. However, **I never realized how fortunate I was to also be able to communicate in Spanish.** My bilingual nature expanded my horizons to be able to take part in internships in Latin America, study in Switzerland, work in a bilingual job in Miami, and finally, get a job in London as a European events representative due to my knowledge of Spanish. **We are creating an international world where languages have taken a dominant role for our future. If you want to open your horizons to global opportunities start with the most powerful tool of all: communication.** Fernanda Baraybar – Frontier Frontier is a company that offers Schiller International University students internships. #### Is it worth learning another language? Fernanda Baraybar – Frontier
