The Pharmacy Technician program at Schiller provides students with the knowledge and technical skills required to pursue entry-level positions in the pharmaceutical field. A Pharmacy Technician Associate degree can open the door to all sorts of new opportunities.
The Pharmacy Technician program concentrates on helping students acquire knowledge and develop skills that enable graduates to:
The Pharmacy Technician training will also focus on reviewing patient drug allergies, dosing of medications, potential interactions and incompatibilities. A trained Pharmacy Technician can prepare IVs, compounded medications and unit-dose medications. Entry-level Pharmacy Technicians work under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist and a supervising technician. Pharmacy settings in which a graduate may work include retail, hospital, mail order, long-term care and compounding pharmacies.
Upon successful completion of the program, graduates will be awarded an Associate of Science degree.
