Schiller International University - An American University in Leysin

The Leysin Campus is also known as the American College of Switzerland (ACS) and has been welcoming students from around the world for nearly 45 years. We pride ourselves on being a small, friendly academic community, yet our many prestigious alumni range from diplomats and famous actors to corporate leaders. The campus provides a perfect central location in Europe and its private train station connects to all main lines leading to major cities such as Paris, Geneva, Florence, Frankfurt, Munich and London.

Leysin, a pristine Swiss mountain village, is active all year round. Situated in the French-speaking region of the Alps, it offers the very best of the healthy Swiss lifestyle. A world-class ski resort village which regularly hosts international competitions, it is a popular destination for outdoor sports such as mountain climbing, snowboarding, mountain biking and paragliding. The surrounding region has a wealth of spectacular countryside and cultural treasures, and nearby cities include Geneva, Lausanne and Montreux, which are home to an impressive array of multinational companies.

You will interact daily with students from over 30 countries, sharing and comparing different life experiences and building a lasting network of friendships and contacts that spans the globe. Our equally diverse faculty have high levels of practical experience, both as educators and as practitioners in their specialized fields, and are well versed in helping you to make a rewarding transition from the classroom to the workplace. ACS offers Bachelor degrees in International Business, International Relations & Diplomacy, and Business Administration in Hotel Management, as well as an MBA in International Business.

Schiller's Leysin campus is sited in an attractive modern building that includes student housing of single or double rooms with shared or private bathrooms, plus classrooms, a library, reading room, university bookstore, a computer lab with Internet access, dining hall, ballroom, and student café/TV lounge. The campus has its own private station which puts the major cities of Switzerland and the rest of Europe just a train connection away.

While based at Leysin, you can join study trips to places directly related to your fields of interest. Recent examples have included the Nestlé International Headquarters in nearby Vevey, the Council on Human Rights at the United Nations in Geneva, the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN) and the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO). We also organize events as diverse as a Swiss/American Chamber of Commerce luncheon with a guest speaker, a visit to Montreux for a literary tour and a tour of the historic Château de Chillon, and travel to Florence, Italy, for a unique cultural perspective.
